Before you start

Use this form to:

• apply for a new bat mitigation licence
• resubmit your licence application after you've received a 'further information request'

Before you begin to complete this form you should know or have ready:

• the applicant's details - this is the person or company who will be named as the licensee, if the licence is granted
• the named ecologist's details
• information about the named ecologist's experience (opens in new tab) - they must be registered to use a level 2 bat survey class licence (opens in new tab) or equivalent
• the site name, location and grid reference
• details about any impacts to protected sites
• the species, roost types and numbers of bats at the site
• information about any charged advice you have received from Natural England
• details of any previous or future licences at this site

Evidence requirements

You must submit supporting evidence with your application, including:

• information about the licence purpose, if it is not for imperative reasons of overriding public interest (IROPI)
• copies of any consents granted for the works, or a link to the local authority's planning portal
• a reasoned statement (opens in new tab), if you are not exempt
• a method statement (opens in new tab)
• maps and figures, as detailed in the method statement
• a work schedule (opens in new tab)
• signed declaration forms (opens in new tab) from the applicant, named ecologist or both - if the applicant is a company or organisation, you must also provide evidence that the person who has signed the declaration has the authority to do so
